19 Feb EventR Version 2.0.1 is now live!
Soft Pauer is excited to announce the release of EventR Team 2.0!
We have been working hard on a larger than normal release over the winter break and want to explain all the enhancements we have made.
There is an app update in both stores for this release we recommend everyone take – most phones should update automatically.
The focus of this release is increased maturity and product usability. Over the last year we have learned much from our users and have tried to cover some (but not yet all!) of our most requested features.

So...what's changed?
Google and Apple Login
We now support social sign in for ease of sign up for people joining ad-hoc teams. We recommend our enterprise customers still sign up through the EventR Coordinator Hub (ECH), but this is now an option.
Map feature to visualise itineraries
We now have a third tab in the home page that shows a map of your itinerary. Users can now choose to live share their location with the team while the app is running. We do not track location in background at present – we might add this feature if requested, but we feel that a live “ping” of your location is what most teams would like. This feature can be disabled from the coordinator hub for Enterprise users by checking “Disable location sharing in app” in Admin->Settings. Activities require looked up addresses to be seen on the map.
Improved Date Range selection
We have made many changes to making it easier to enter dates more quickly and correctly in both App and ECH. This is ongoing – but we feel the new selectors should be easier and clearer to use.
Enhanced team profiles to capture vital user information (Enterprise only)
We have introduced the concept of a user’s personal information store. The user can be requested by the organisation to provide information such as dietary, allergy, passport expiry etc. The user enters the information once on the Account tag->Profile and chooses to share it with the organisation. Importantly this information belongs to the user, and they can rescind access to it whenever they want. The organisation can then see this information on the User screen in the ECH. The list of requested information is selected on the Admin->Settings screen in the ECH. Please note this feature is entirely opt in, and currently the list of requested data is set up by us.
View chat when offline
We have worked to improve the chat in the app. This includes making it accessible when you are offline in low or no network conditions. Dates and times of messages have also been tightened up and should reflect the user’s locale
Flight subpage and status improvements
In the app you can now tap on a flight to see additional information about it from our live update service (Enterprise only). This information should display flight status updates.
Multiple flights with same code on same day
It turns out the airlines reuse flight numbers on the same day. If a flight code has multiple flights for the same day, you can now select from a list.
Itinerary Tagging and Categorisation (Enterprise only)
Assign coloured tags to itineraries. This enables you to categorise your itineraries by year, event, coordinator using handy colours. There is also a new tag “archive” that is assigned to any itinerary you delete in the app or ECH. This enables you to clear up large number of old itineraries without losing any information. Delete archived itinerary will permanently remove them. Permissions can now be granted explicitly to edit itineraries with a particular tag to a user role.
Added support for 12 hour time display
We now have AM/PM display in the app. This should default to locale, but if the user wants to change it explicitly use Account->Settings->Time.
Countdown timers to Events on itinerary
In the app tapping on the bold time will toggle to show days, hours, minutes, seconds to the activity.
Simplified itinerary title bar in App
We have redesigned the title area of the app and made it easier to select between multiple itineraries using the “hamburger” menu. We have moved itinerary version to the Summary page, along with calendar syncing. Time zone swapping is the clock in the top right. Location sharing is now an icon that you can quickly turn on and off. Itinerary tags will also appear in this top area for Enterprise customers using this feature. Please note swiping still works!
Improved address lookup
We’ve reworked the address lookup. Hopefully it will be more accurate to the event location. We recommend everyone always set the event location, as many features are localised around this.
Improved keyboard navigation of ECH
We have been throwing away our mouse, and optimising keyboard only usage. We think it feels much better, but would love the feedback from any keyboard warriors out there!
